a funny little man from an unknown land......

Image
Who is this funny little man......? Well, he is a gift I bought for my Mom from an antique store. I just thought he had a wonderful personality. My mother loved him. Aren't handmade things wonderful?

I love being an artist!!!

Here are some of my little fairy furniture, paintings and photography that I have created recently. This is me in our room with some of my collages and paintings behind me. The picture is a little dark, sorry. We are looking for a place to exhibit our treehouses (Fairy Castles). Does anyone have a suggestion as to where we could show our Fairy Castles in this area? A shop, a gallery, a museum, or other kind of business? Let us know if you have any suggestions. Debbie www.artmajeur.com/debbieschramer

I wish I had a real house like our Fairy Castle!!!!!

This morning, I was so excited to see 5 wonderful comments on my blog!!!! I just haven't been hearing from very many people lately and just miss getting comments from people so much!! I thought I was sharing some interesting things with everyone but it seems people just really love our Fairy Castle more than anything I've put on my blog!! It's understandable though as I love our Fairy Castle, too!! I am so excited that you like our creation. (My husband Mike and I made the Fairy Castle together!!) We started it in 1994 and have changed it several times since then. I wish we could have a real house like this one!! It would be so wonderful to live in a house that feels like a tree!! The picture here of the Castle sitting by the pool is actually the second Fairy Castle we created. The following photographs are of the first and larger house we made (the one we created in 1994). We would be so deliriously happy if we could just make our houses and sell them. We work as caretake

A wonderful childhood.......

I have been thinking lately about my blog and how I could make it more interesting. What I love about some of my favorite blogs......(Ullabenulla, Florizelle's blog, Katherine Dunn, Tongue in Cheek, Pam Garrison, etc.) is that they talk about themselves and their lives or they share the artwork and philosophies of other people......which makes their blogs so fascinating and worth returning to. I have not yet figured out how to put links to other people's sites yet, although Ulla did explain how to do that......I just haven't taken the energy to try to understand it. (It's terrible how I put things off because I think I can't do them!!) So hopefully, I'll learn that soon because there have been so many people I've wanted to post about on my blog!! I am so grateful for blogs, though ,because every day I have that to look forward to......to see what new things people have shared and the world just has become so much bigger and more wonderful because of what I

What beauty, hidden behind forests, worlds away......

"this is the garden:colours come and go, frail azures fluttering from night's outer wing strong silent greens serenely lingering, absolute lights like baths of golden snow. This is the garden:pursed lips do blow upon cool flutes within wide glooms, and sing (of harps celestial to the quivering string) invisible faces hauntingly and slow. This is the garden. Time shall surely reap and on Death's blade lie many a flower curled, in other lands where other songs be sung; yet stand They here enraptured,as among the slow deep trees perpetual of sleep some silver-fingered fountain steals the world". e.e. cummings

Wouldn't it be wonderful to have a house like one of these.......?

I think that if someone asked me what I would like to do if I could really do what I wanted to do, I would definitely say..... I would want to be an interior decorator!! I absolutely love the thought of going into someone's beautiful home to spend time with them about how they would like to make their home more beautiful and romantic and lovely. I have been looking at interior design books for years and years and have learned so much. I have copied pages and pages of images from so many wonderful books on interior design and decorating, beautiful gardens, enchanting scenes for parties and dinners and just so many inspiring places. I feel that I would bloom and grow so much if I could be an interior decorator. There are so many styles that I love: European, rustic, elegant, farm style with weathered and beautiful, old things of memories and charm. I love some modern things, but mostly European and rustic styles......I hope someday to put all the pages I have copied into a book to s

new collages and paintings.......

Image
here are some new collages and a new painting I did recently. i love doing collages. i experimented with our copier and my little furniture and some pretty new papers i found recently. (you can click on each picture to see a larger version). the first two are called: (first) "tiny fairies love their fairy thone" (second) "fairy throne flies through the garden" (third): it's funny but this is a painting but it has a bit of a three dimensional look about it. I thought this little wolf looked like he was looking for a friend in this medieval village. this is done in oil pastel and chalk. (called: "wolf trying to find a friend in the village") (fourth): this is an interesting collage that intrigued me as it has a three dimensional look about it as well. little objects and pictures that i love and combined to express a feeling of dreams and wonderings. (called: "pink flowers like to think") (fifth:) mixing objects, roses, pretty beads, papers, p
