"Clean" program detox

Image
http://andynelliegetclean.blogspot.com/ Andy and I just did a week long detox program. It was very interesting and enlightening for us. The end results were phenomenal. I definitely recomend this detox program to anyone needed more energy, better sleep, to lose a few pounds, or just for an uplift in life. In the blog we include directions, recipes, and our stats and feelings as we did the detox. It is a recommended three week program, but we only did a week of it.

Spring In a Bottle

Image
I am so ready for Spring, but I've told you that already, haven't I? Little bits of spring decor here and there are helping me to get that warm fuzzy spring is almost here feeling. If you have never been to a Goodwill Outlet, then you have missed out on a very unique experience. You have to be able to dig and grab with the best of them…and I mean the best because these people buy this stuff by the cartfuls, I assume to resale. There are big bins FULL of anything you can imagine.  I have only been twice and both times left with a few pretty cool things. This trip,  I found these three beauties! Can you tell that these are wine bottles? Can you believe it? I had no idea that wine came packaged so pretty. I mean this is my favorite color, you know. I went outside before the torrential rain started this morning and brought in a few pretty branches with little buds beginning to form. I love the way they look in these bottles. Can you see why I call them my spring in a bottle? I a

It is all about craftsmanship

One of our clients contacted us with a rather unusual question. A few years ago he had bought a beautiful 19th century gothic styled architectural element for its beauty and the craftsmanship this piece radiated. So this client asked my company LEFEVRE INTERIORS not only to restore this damaged wooden element but even to design a bookcase in which this element could be integrated! Not that simple! First of all we had to restore the damaged woodcarving of the existing element and second we had to find the suitable gothic design details in order to start the design of the bookcase. I browsed into all the books I could possibly find about gothic ornaments and here is what we made of it. Finally our client was most pleased with the result!   This is the bookcase brought in at our client’s home. (picture by me)   It all started with this existing gothic element we used as the upper part of the bookcase. (picture by me) This is the new gothic paneling of the lowe

Dana's Birthday Party and a Visit from Jamie and "Dutch"

Image
This will be just a quick post with a few pictures from a little party we had for my sister, Dana, on Friday. I had a bunch of more elaborate decorating plans but that all went out the window. As I mentioned earlier we had something unexpected come up on Monday night and so it was a really hectic week. (I will tell you all about it in tomorrow's post).  My sister, Jamie, and her husband "Dutch" got here late Tuesday night and stayed through yesterday morning. (His name is Josh, but this past summer when Lillie was learning to talk it came out "Dutch" and somehow it stuck and now we all find ourselves calling him that. I am not sure if he appreciates it but he's a good sport.) We had so many other things going on that it wasn't until I put Lillie down for her nap on Friday afternoon that I started working on decorating for Dana's party. Seeing how it was just going to be dessert with us sisters, Lillie, Josh and our cousin, Tamara I knew no one reall

Looking Forward To Spring.

Image
Hello everyone.  I hope you had a great weekend. We are starting to see signs of Spring in Virginia.  My rose bushes have little leaves and some of the bulbs are just breaking ground. There are more warm days now and things seem to be coming alive again. One of our favorite things to do in warm weather is dine outdoors... and enjoy the extension we added to the deck last year. Winter decorating is replaced with seashells... and greenery and With warmer weather comes trips to the beach. (Photos are of our home last Spring.  Beach picture taken from our room in Destin, Fl.)  Thank goodness all of this is just around the corner. What is your favorite thing about Spring? “Mr. Sun", I NEED you.” Really and truly, I do. Are you as ready for spring time as I am? Has this winter seemed to have lasted forever? I am a little weary of cold and rain and am ready to feel the sun beat down on my back. *** Just wanted to let you know that I am having so much fun collecting items for  my upcoming Etsy shop.   I will be at the Nashville Flea Market tomorrow with my eyes open and you in mind.
