Lillie's Christmas Room

Image
This year I didn't really do any real decorating in Lillie's room. We put a little tree in her window seat area that she decorated completely herself and then we made quite a few little yarn trees (per her request) and put them out with some feather boas (to look like snow) and that was it. It wasn't what I had planned on doing originally, but it was nice and simple and she had a lot of fun. For her yarn trees she picked out three different shades of pink. (I only used the lighter two on the trees in these photos). We will have a tutorial up soon on how to make these.  The little stocking my mom made her for her first Christmas four years ago. Here's a shot of Lillie's little tree: She and Lola put a bunch of their toys underneath it and pretend they are presents.     And here is one of the trees she made herself. =) I also wanted to let you know we restocked our table runners: Have a beautiful Friday!

Our Christmas Mantel

Image
This year I went really really simple on our mantel. I had planned on doing an advent calendar hanging where the stockings were but didn't get it done in time, I may still make one later this week and we will just have to play catch-up, or I may wait until next year...  Here is the mantel in context with the rest of the room. Also, I forgot to mention earlier this month that you can click here for our free December download: And we also have several Christmas downloads available including Isaiah 9:6 and Silent Night and The First Noel.  I'll be back tomorrow! Have a wonderful Thursday!

Thank you so much for stopping by! I am so very excited to be a part of Jennifer Rizzo's Holiday House Walk again this year!  Be sure to click here to see Stop 1: Jennifer Rizzo ! Welcome to our home! Christmas has always been my favorite time of year, and now with two little girls it is even more special. I love using elements from nature in my decor and we have made many of the decorations in our home ourselves to keep our costs at a minimum. We live in an 1800 square foot townhome in Virginia. It is a middle unit and therefore does not have any windows on either side (just the front and back) which can make photographing our space a bit challenging, but I did try to take more overall shots of the spaces than I normally do so that you can get a feel for the whole space and how it looks at Christmas! Here is the tree in our living room: And here is the whole space: And here is our dining room that is essentially an extension of our living room: We made the yarn trees and the...
