Jars of Prettiness - Confectionery & Refreshments

Image
Jars of prettiness, what a lovely way to decorate your table for a wedding, summer picnic, courtyard luncheon, or just pretty up your coffee table with treats for your guests. Love the idea of cucumber slices in spring water rather than lemon alone. A simple ribbon tied around a jar of striped straws adds such a lovely touch. I'm definitely going to put some pretty jars on my coffee table and can't wait till Summer to create a lovely table for luncheon with friends. Collages created using Style Me Pretty, see more of my boards "here" If you love macarons, you can find a previous post and recipe "here" If your looking for pretty coloured straws like the ones above, please see my post "here" sharing this week with: Wow Us Wednesdays at Savvy Southern Style Transformation Thursday at Shabby Creek Cottage Open House Party at No Minimalist Here Time Travel Thursday at the Brambleberry Cottage Show and tell Friday at My Romantic Home At The Picket Fence ...

Where Are All the Toys? (And more Give Thanks Pillow Covers)

Image
Pin It    One of the questions we get asked the most is, "Where are all the toys?" Don't worry! I promise you the girls do have toys and our house is not always as tidy as it looks in the pictures. Although they do have plenty of toys, I must admit that we don't have tons and tons of them. This is for two reasons. First, I really want both Lillie and Lola to be creative and use their imaginations so we do alot of coloring, painting and drawing as well as reading and puzzles and stuff like that. Now, don't get me wrong, we still have some oh-so-lovely plastic toys too, including Lillie's current favorite, a Dora the Explorer guitar that lights up and and plays all sorts of loud songs, but we don't have an over-abundance of them. The second reason is that our house, although I wouldn't necessarily consider small, I wouldn't think of it as big either (I think it is around 1800 square feet), and we have very little storage space. We live in a townhouse...

Little Projects & A Winner

Image
Hi Everyone.  I have two projects that I did a while ago but never got around to posting. I have to admit that I am somewhat of a " stick it in the drawer " type of gal. Our home normally looks clean and organized as long as you don't open the drawers.  Am I the only one that has four junk drawers in my  kitchen?  I am always looking for things to help hide  organize my junk.  Last year at a garage sales I found these two pieces for a few dollars that I thought would be perfect for my office/craft room. The first one got a coat of ivory paint. I added the numbers using carbon paper and a Sharpie. My other piece was painted ivory and then I free handed tags and numbers using a Sharpie. The silver sugar shaker now holds glitter.  Really easy and cheap projects but they  give me the extra storage for all my craft stuff. Thank you to everyone that entered the Shabby Apple giveaway. The winner of the Da Vinci dress is Andie @ Divine Theatre ....
