Welcome Valentine

Image
It’s February first and I spent a few minutes popping up our meager Valentine’s Day decor.  A wreath on the front door, red ribbons for the dogs and some rather sad looking pansies (clearly they need Sister’s touch ) dress up the front portico. And a DIY pom pom garland and the requisite much anticipated cinnamon jelly heart candies (which I promptly removed to a hiding place after this photo) in the foyer round out the welcome .   Using the base from last year’s rather blah wreath and this Pinterest inspiration picture… I came up with this… And I spent a whopping $6 at Michael’s to do it! While I was there I picked up the same exact picks in the St. Patrick’s Day version. So, ladies, that’s the extent of our Valentine’s decor for the year.  Now, I’ve got to go start enjoying the weekend :-) xoxo See all of my Valentine's Day here! Come Inside…If You Dare 2012

Image
*bwahahahaha* I’m going to go ahead and warn y’all that if you dared to “come inside” last year you’re going to be seeing much of the same spooky decor.  It’s kind of the perfect example of leaving well enough alone! I made the wreath with strips of black tulle last year and added a darling decorative wand that was a gift from Sister eons ago.  I’d never really had the perfect place for it…until now!  I added leaf garlands that I already had around the base of the pumpkin topiaries and picked up a new smiling lantern from Target. The foyer table is home to a gaggle of crows and loads of mice scampering up the stairs.  Everything was purchased in past years: vinyl bats , witch’s hair and mice silhouettes from Michael’s, crows from Dollar Tree and Michael’s, pumpkin chandelier shades from Ballard Designs (they never seem to go on sale, if you’re wondering), standing paper mache pumpkin from Home Goods.  The leaves were collected from the yard and the “beware hau...

Fall Out Front

Image
It’s fall on the front porch, y’all! I put up my fall florals, broke out the ten year old pumpkin topiaries and dressed up the dogs with brown satin bows.  I suppose it was time. xoxo

A Patriotic Welcome

Image
Our front porch is decked out in red, white and blue for a very patriotic welcome!   Honey hung the bunting and I stuck a few flags in the pots.  And in about two minutes flat the front was ready for the fourth! Y’all, the back porch is just a smidge away from complete and I’ve been as busy as a bee feathering the house for our annual fourth of July shindig.  There’s nothing like a party to set things in high gear! xoxo

Valentine's Day Decor

Image
While I really only go crazy with decor for Christmas and Halloween , I almost always have a little something around for the other holidays.  For Valentine's Day, I put up the wreath I made last year and festooned the dogs with their red XOXO ribbons. The entry way received a quick little DIY pom pom and XO garland (see how here)  and a bowl of cinnamon jelly hearts (hands down my favorite thing about the holiday.)  The X and O are red glittered ornaments scored 75% off from Byrd's Cookie Company at their after Christmas sale.  (Thanks Sister for pointing them out.) And in the basement I put out the little's Valentine's runner and stuffed alligator.  The remnants of the pom pom garland made their way to top off the chalkboard. So, nothing too earth shattering, but festive nonetheless.  Hope y'all had a great weekend! xoxo Valentine's Decor So Easy Pom Pom Garland Valentine's 2011 Valentine's Pizza with Heart Pepperonis Heart Hot Chocolate and Snack Mix...
