My Tiny Not So Great Attempt at Red and a Reindeer Pillow

Image
My lovely little Lillie informed me as we started decorating a little while ago that she was pretty sure Christmas was supposed to be red and green, not all white. Although she is not perfect =), I have to say she said it in the sweetest little voice and seemed somewhat concerned - as if possibly I didn't know this fact. So, I decided seeing how we had already finished the downstairs and we were doing pink in her room that I would try to add a touch of red either in our bedroom or to the porch. Our new cranberry reindeer pillow was finished and ready to be photographed right before I started decorating our master bedroom so I thought I would try it in there first. Even though it was just a little touch I have to say it just wasn't me. I do really love the pillow though so I've decided I'm going to go with red out on our porch so I can use it there. I am hoping to get that done later this week. That's my last space left to decorate. So, this red lasted about ten min...

Our Master Bedroom Before We Paint it Again...

Image
I worked on getting the Thanksgiving downloads we will be offering, printed and set up on a festive autumn table setting this weekend but I didn't get to photograph it in time to post tonight so it will have to wait. The only thing I have for tonight are a few pictures of our bedroom that I took in a hurry. I am thinking about painting it a lighter color so thought I would show it with some fall decor before I take the plunge and paint it. I haven't decided for sure that I am going to do it but I am definitely leaning towards it.   And yes, we have a TV in there. I was tempted to hide it, =) but decided to leave it seeing how we often get asked where the TV's in our house are. We have two - this one and the one in our family room.  I don't know if Jon and I have ever watched something on this TV together in the four years we've lived here. It sure did come in handy, though, when I had morning sickness with Lola and couldn't get out of bed, I could just snuggle ...

Painted Curtains and Pillows for the Master Bedroom

Image
Well, I finally got my pictures uploaded of the curtains and pillows we painted a couple of weeks ago for our master bedroom. Believe it or not the white "curtains" we had hanging up there for the past three and a half years were just white twin sheets. I had them hanging like curtains so I don't think anyone knew, but it always drove me crazy. I never could find exactly what I was looking for, though, in my price range. My sister, Dana recently moved and got a new job in New York and got to decorate a new apartment with her best friend, Christine. It turned out fabulous and I hope at some point I will be able to take some photos to share with you all. Anyway, when it came time to make some draperies she sent me a link to some fabric swatches that she was interested in but wasn't quite sure about. I agreed that although they were all pretty none of them were quite right for her space and suggested a stripe. I thought the bold look of a wide stripe would be a nice cont...

A Couple of Master Bedroom Projects and a NEW Pillow Cover GIVEAWAY!

Image
Seeing how I didn't have time to do any of the other posts I have in my head right now I thought I would just do a super quick post and show a couple of the tiny updates I did in our master bedroom  to get ready for the COTM feature and also do a GIVEAWAY for one of the new pillow covers that we will have available in our shop on Monday. The first thing I did was use a sharpie and add the word "reve" to the large bolster pillow I made when we first moved in here. I actually am planning on making a whole new pillow to go there but just added the script to update it a bit for now. The other thing I did was add some ruffles to our lamp shade like I did in the nursery. I do plan on doing a tutorial for this soon but really it is the easiest project in the world. I just cut three long strips of fabric and then ruffled it on my machine and then used my glue gun to attach it to the shade. I don't even think it took me twenty minutes to do each one. After I did the one in th...
