Modern House Minimalist Design

The girls and I are back from a fun week in New Hampshire. We actually laid pretty low and didn't do a whole lot, but we did do quite a bit of decorating. I didn't take many "people" pictures this time (although I did take a few from our trip to the farmstand to get Dana a Christmas tree which I will post once I get them on the computer if any of them came out okay) but I took tons and tons of photos of Jamie and Josh's house. I have to admit I always get a little jealous when I am at their place. They did such a beautiful job building it and they have found so many wonderful pieces to fill it with. Jamie and Josh got their tree before the girls and I arrived last weekend and got it decorated but then Jamie pretty much let me have free reign over most of the other decorating. Last month I showed you some photos of Jamie and Josh's  Great Room and Mantel . I had intended on posting these pictures shortly after but of course got behind and forgot. Anyway, we took these photos the same day as the other ones which is why all of the accessorizing on the coffee table is exactly the same as before.  Here is what their great room looks like during most of the year:   One of the reasons I most love working with neutrals as a base is that it is so easy and inexpensive to change out the feel of a room. For summer, though, Jamie wanted a more bright and cheery look and so she made some pillow covers (which she made in the same size as the other pillows so she could just slip them on and off) in a coral pattern and a solid coral and then added some potted plants that had the same color and that was it - the ...

Here are some photos of Jamie and Josh's great room. I think they did a fabulous job, and this is now my favorite room in their home! I think the wall color is perfect for the room. It is Sparrow by Benjamin Moore.  The chairs are from Ballard Design. We made the silhouette pillows ourselves, and we will have a tutorial for those soon (and we also will be selling them in September). The lamp is from Target (I think). Both the coffee table and side table are from White Home Collection in Wilton, NH. The chandelier is from Ballard Designs. We should be having a tutorial for the burlap vase either tomorrow or Wednesday. The silhouette coasters are from Target. I want some!
