A young couples living room project!

Image
Hi there......everyone watch The Oscars last night?  I lapped it up, and really enjoyed the show. So happy to see Argo do so well, though I would have been as happy had Silver Linings Playbook take the prize. Really happy Jennifer won, love how real she is and Daniel Day Lewis admittedly was fabulous as Lincoln though I have to admit I was rooting for Bradley Cooper who I thought was incredible in SLP.  I will cover my hits and misses on the fashion front later this week. Moving along...... I so enjoyed this recent project, and it turned out to be super successful as the young couple who hired me to create three mood boards ended up being so happy with them that they have already nearly ordered their entire living room! No grass growing under their feet, they lead busy lives and wanted to jump right in! A little background, they are a young couple, married for a few years, he is almost done with his medical residency, and she is a teacher. They live in Chicago so wanted someth...

A beach house project!

Before I begin this post...got in 4 fabulous dough bowls yesterday. All stunning, they go fast and there are always people wanting one....so if interested email me here. Good Friday morning! I really enjoy the relatively new concept of e-desgn. Its a lot of fun and I am working on two great projects right now. (we have not really addressed art or wall application yet).  So I started with the earth tones, to honor her wishes and because we all know that when you start with a neutral palette, it makes it so easy to change things up when and if you...

Interior Design Inspiration - Mood Boards and Palette Generator

2012 is full of wonderful colour inspiration including Amethyst, one of my personal favourites and Laura Ashley have just launched their new Berkley Square range in muted tones of amethyst.  I love their new collection and as you can see by my post on "Mauve Inspiration" that this colour features in my own living area. Laura Ashley's new collection is light and fresh, inspired by a stylised wisteria motif with accent colours of olive, dove grey, linen and white. The range is designed to work well with their Sherwood furniture collection.  A wonderful Spring colour and uplifting at any time of the year.   I used the Resene colour palette generator to create a colour palette to match the Laura Ashley Interior above. A really cool gadget to help with your interior design.  Just upload your image and Resene generate a suggested palette for you. Obviously if your starting your decorating from scratch then you may not have an image to upload... Never fear! Olioboard...
