Easter Treatster: Brigadeiro (3-Ingredient Brazilian Fudge!)

So if you were wondering what I was going to bring you back from Brazil, this is it! And just in time for Easter, too, if you find yourself in a pinch for a dessert! There are only 3 ingredients that you may very well have around your house, so even if you're not in a pinch - no excuses! You can't pass this deliciosity up. This dessert is called brigadeiro, and it comes in all different

Spring Has Finally Sprung!

Yes, gingasians* exist, and if you didn't believe it before please get an eyeful of Pitcha Numba 3. I am constantly telling people that this is my real hair color, and even after 22 years I am still puzzled as to why everyone assumes I dye it (it's not an unnatural color, is it?!). Our Living Room with a Few Spring Touches

Image
I hope you all are having a lovely week! Today I wanted to share a few Easter/spring touches that we added to our living room. We've been working on quite a few other projects lately so we kept it pretty simple: Because of the new gray tufted chairs our gray tufted ottoman just did go anymore in this room - a bit too much tufting for one little space.  I sent it back up to NH with Jason and will show you how it looks in it's new home at some point this summer! Or maybe even in late April. I moved our coffee table from the family room in here for about two weeks, but didn't love it. It was a little too rustic looking and I like it so much better in the family room. I few days after I took these pictures I ended up doing a bunch of rearranging in here, and I finally painted and waxed the legs on the chairs and will show you that soon. This is how it looked in here, though, for most of March. =) Sorry - I should have painted the legs on the chairs BEFORE I took these pictu...

Pippi Longstocking Eats A Hot Dog

We've had frigid weather (by which I mean CONSISTENT LOWS OF UNDER 45°F (7ish°C) and to offer you my condolences if you live in a truly cold place) in New Orleans the last couple of days, and everyone's walking around bundled up like penguins in sweaters and scarves (now picture it - aww!). I welcomed the opportunity to open up my winter box and reunite with my long-lost knits. COAT Miss

We added a few simple spring touches in what we still refer to as Lola's room. We haven't changed anything in here yet because we have some other big projects in the works that I will share with you soon, eventually, though we will most likely be changing this room up a bit seeing how Lola and Lillie are now sharing Lillie's room .     This new girl pushing stroller pillow cover is now available in our shop !  Wall Color - Alexandria Beige by Benjamin Moore Ruffled Lamp Shade - Made By Us ( See Tutorial ) Dresser - Simply Shabby Chic at Target Hanging Branch - Made By Us ( See Tutorial ) Moss Mushroom and Nest - Savvy   Pillows - Dear Lillie White Bunny - Target Girl Pushing Stroller Cutout - Coming very soon! Rediscovering New Orleans

We've been back in New Orleans for a couple days already and it's simultaneously as if we were never gone and as if we've dropped into a whole new city. There is so much to rediscover, and so much to discover for the first time! Mostly new foooooooood. I have an employment prerequisite for spending all my money, though, so it's time to get down to business and get into business! TOP

A Little Bit of Spring in Lillie's Room

Image
Lillie loved the little bunnies that she and Lola picked out at Target so I gladly moved them from the dining room up to their room (we still call it Lillie's room even though they both sleep in their now). The room doesn't really look different than the last time I photographed it, we added a few tiny touches of spring- the two little bunnies, some eggs a nest and some pink tulips. Lillie loves when she gets to have pink flowers in her room.  The tulips were so pretty at Trader Joe's this week I actually got several bunches and added them to our bedroom and Lola's as well. I'll show you the simple spring touches we added in those rooms once I get those photos on the computer. For now though here is Lillie's room.  I removed the "Lillian" and "Annabel" from the bolster pillows seeing how the girls now share this room. Spring is in the air.....at least in my house!

Last day to be eligible to win the beautiful silver tray for my one year celebration! Click here to visit that post for details...winner to be chosen tomorrow! OK yes after a ridiculous amount of snow this season we have finally been having some milder days! At last we are hitting the 50's...and it feels positively balmy out there! No complaints form me, when I see the temps creeping up and the sun blazing, I am a really happy girl. However I am not so naive as to think its over...we have been known to get one last blast of winter when our guard is down, so I am not discounting even more snow or frigid temps.  However just because I can't control what goes on outside doesn't mean I can't let things feel "spring-y" indoors and that is exactly what I am doing! I went to my favorite nursery and filled my cart to the brim with the prettiest array of spring flowers that I could find and came home and had fun filling all my containers with them. Then I got really ...
