A Little Southern Gentleman
Blonde AW (as I’m now calling my bestie down the road) and I were positively delighted to host a Southern themed soiree in celebration of our dear friend Amanda (also known as “Blonde Amanda” and “Reese’s Doppleganger” on this here blog) and her little Southern gentleman on the way.
We went to town with the Southern theme, with ladies sipping on libations from our sweet tea bar and nibbling on all sorts of terribly good down home eats. Loads of gorgeous hydrangeas (from Honey’s mama’s yard!) filled up mason jars. And bow ties abounded at the event - showing up on everything from the invitation to the ‘nana puddin’.
The sweet tea bar boasted sweet tea, lemonade, Firefly vodka, lemons and fresh mint and lavender from our garden for guests to mix up all sorts of scrumptious sips.
Eats included Southern delicacies like cheese coins, chicken ‘n waffles with peach horseradish syrup, pimento cheese finger sandwiches, bow tie pasta salad and banana pudding.
Guests each took home a little boxed, bow tie adorned petit four from McEntyre’s Bakery in Smyrna. I mean, no baby fete I’m a part of is complete without these pint sized confections.
The gorgeous mama-to-be was the very first friend I made in our new neck of the woods when we moved three years ago. Since then, her and her sweet family have been a fixture at pretty much all of our family celebrations.
Kisses to Blonde AW for being my co-conspirator on this one. Let’s do it again super soon. And a thousand hugs and kisses to Blonde Amanda…I can hardly wait to snuggle baby J in two short (albeit hot) months.
xoxo
