Coffee Table Nautical Chart {Porch Projects}

Last June I fell in love with this coffee table at Savannah must-shop One Fish Two Fish.  Retailing at just under two-thousand (eek) I knew then and there that I would recreate it one day.

And the new porch was the perfect place!  I could hardly believe my luck when I ran across the Morgan cocktail table at the Ballard Designs Outlet for $79!  I purchased the nautical chart at River Services on Thunderbolt in Savannah for about $20 and cut it down to size.  Honey purchased a sheet of plexiglass and a tool to cut acrylic at Home Depot for about $25 and he went to town on it.  He huffed and puffed over it for some time but I must say, it worked fabulously and didn’t chip the edges at all.

So, for about $125 (versus $2,000!), I am just ecstatic over my porch coffee table!  This chart has hung in my parent’s house for as long as I can remember.  The PCP has already spent hours studying the chart – pin pointing the river I grew up on and Tybee Island countless times.
